Membership Information

It may be clichéd, but if you've seen us on stage and
we look like we're having fun - the truth is.....,
WE ARE!!
We're always happy to welcome new members - why not come and join us?

Please contact our Membership Secretary, Bernie McDonnell for further information on any aspect of society membership, including new member auditiions.

ACTING MEMBERSHIP -

Previous stage experience is not essential and all voices are welcome. We usually rehearse on a Tuesday evening, 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at The King's School Music Department in Park Road - The entrance to the car park is actually on Princes Street, just as you turn into Princes Street off Park Road. Principal rehearsals are normally on a Thursday evening.

Annual subscriptions for acting members are £40.00 for persons over 18 years of age and £15.00 for students and those persons aged 14 to 18 year olds.

The Roy Sims' Memorial Award
On 22 April 2002 Roy Sims, a loyal stalwart of the Players for 52 years, died aged seventy-four. Much thought was given on how to celebrate and pay tribute to his memory. The Executive Committee agreed that the Roy Sims Memorial Award should be presented annually to recognise an individual for their progress and development during the season.

NON-ACTING MEMBERSHIP -

If you'd like to become a member but don't wish to appear 'in the spotlight', then we'd still like to hear from you. Our back stage crew and front of house team are very important to the smooth running of every production - perhaps you can offer skills in those areas?
Publicity - We are always looking for new ways to promote the name of the Peterborough Gilbert and Sullivan Players! If you have experience in marketing or publicity, or just have the time, energy and enthusiasm to help, we'd welcome your support. There are so many ways to become involved, what skill do you have ..........?
Non-acting member subscription is £15.00 per annum.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

We don't just get together for rehearsing and performing. During the year our Social Secretary and helpers organise events (usually having something to do with calories!!) to which members, their relatives and friends are all welcome.
Our 2008 end-of-season event was held at The Marriott Hotel in Peterborough - our thanks to Marilyn for organising a great evening and for all her hard work on the social side throughout the season. Celebrations took the form of a tribute band night, with entertainment from professional acts, and were much enjoyed by those members and guests who attended.
